Problem 20

Continuous systems in statistical mechanics. Is there a topological dynamics formulation?

Does “continuous” refer to continuous actions, as in a system of particles in $\mathbb{R}^d$?

I think so. The main topological dynamics formulations that Rufus was familiar with were probably things like Ising model in discrete space (Z^d).

It is also possible that he was asking about continous spins systems on discrete lattices, as for example XY and Heisenberg models.
